Whether fuel, CO2 emissions or the cost per kilometre, tomorrow's environmentally friendly drive technology must, above all, be able to do one thing: Save on consumption, residue and costs. On behalf of the Berlin Public Transportation Services, we have succeeded at this stage in meeting the requirements in the hybrid bus segment. Subsidized with money from the EU, we've helped bring the Berlin Public Transportation Services one step closer to their goal: Keeping the city centre of Berlin free from bus exhaust fumes.
For tests and demonstration purposes, research and development vehicles are at your disposal. They impressively demonstrate, for example, hydrogen hybrid technology. One further advantage of emission-free drive technology is the noticeable reduction of noise pollution. The next step in development includes reducing the use of the comparatively expensive hydrogen.
At the beginning of every project, an in-depth feasibility study, which also takes into consideration the financial cost , is available. Given the "green light", a conceptual phase follows for the drive technology segment of passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles. According to the timetable, we bring energy-storage (lithium batteries and ultra caps), energy management systems, diagnostic systems and frequency converters up to near series production.
